Location
A beautiful example of Canada’s lakes, Wenasaga is approximately
eight miles long with 24 miles of shoreline. A winding five mile
river leads north towards a picturesque waterfall – a perfect
place for fishing or a family picnic. Moose, deer, bear, otters,
loons and eagles are often seen along the lake and river.
Lake Wenasaga is an easy lake to fish. No need for guides, we’ll
hand you a map with all the great fishing spots, set you up with
a fine boat and motor and you’re on your way. The lake contains
primarily walleye and northern pike fishing. Wenasaga is small enough
to enable you to come in for lunch or a break and yet large enough
to make you feel you’re in the middle of wilderness. Lake
Wenasaga, on the Wenasaga River chain and directly north of Lac
Seul, cannot be accessed from either Lac Seul or Bluffy, the lake
directly above Wenasaga. Wenasaga is an eight mile long lake with
a five mile stretch of river, Our fishery starts with a 35 ft waterfall
at the north end of the river which effectively separates Wenasaga
from Bluffy and ends with a fast water rapids at the lower end of
our lake. This rapids allows plenty of fish to come up from Lac
Seul but is large enough to prevent boats from accessing the lake
from below. Altogether, Wenasaga Lodge offers you a truly Canadian
fishing experience.
For those who yearn for the opportunity to be the only one on the
lake, we also invite you to try our boat caches available on our
outlakes. These caches give you the change to experience Canadian
wilderness fishing all on your own for a day.
